Pants on fire! Or maybe its just my fat melting Scala Bio-Fir pants!

May 20th, 2009

The latest anti cellulite treatment Scala Bio-Fir pants sold at John Lewis Department Stores. Or should I say sold-OUT. (they’re in stock now at John Lewis)

Sounded kooky to me until I read this article in Scientific American about why certain anti cellulite treatments aren’t an effective treatment. If you don’t want to read the article I’ll sum it up – cellulite treatment has to target three areas : fat, circulation and collagen. Blah de blah blah nothing really works or if it does its expensive.  (Of course that same article suggested that cellulite occurs because of women’s underwear being elastic. Little hint to that writer to look up some pictures of King of Lydia’s Wife. Cellulite isn’t new it was just called to every woman’s attention in the 1970s by Vogue. Thanks a lot Vogue!)

So back to the pants and Scientific American, basically the pants promote circulation and herbs to treat the collagen and heat to “melt the fat”. I haven’t tried the pants yet, so I cant say if they’re an effective treatment for cellulite, but 50 different women did and all of them found visible results. Thats a pretty good record.

If you’ve tried them let me know jess@anticellulitetreatmenttoday.com. I’m anxious to post results!

Scala Bio Fir Pants – Article Update

May 28th, 2009

So many readers have been asking me do I have any more information on the Scala Bio Fir from John LewisDepartment Stores. My original article was an excited post from the sale of the panties. So are these panties an effective anti cellulite treatment?

Little background on what the Scala Bio Fir panties are and what they propose to do. The system called FIR (stands for some “ray” technology) which are a direct effect of the “bio crystals” which are built into the fabric of the panties and emit heat when they come in contact with the skin. (basically they set your butt to warming).

This all sounded good to me, considering what I’ve read and researched on cellulite, what causes cellulite and what cures are available. That research was pretty inconclusive, however there was a general consensus that cellulite is caused by poor circulation, fat cells, thin skin and a breakdown of the tissue that holds fat together in the body. Now back to panty-talk.

So the panties heat your butt up, which increases circulation, and also “melts the fat” so it drains away and magically flushes away into the kidneys to be excreted later. Yuck and double yuck, but hey if they work I’m up for a little work.

The good news is that the panties, according to a source who wishes to remain anonymous (*looks innocent*) work for about 15 minutes after you take them off, which is SIX HOURS after you wear them.

The bad news is they’re wicked uncomfortable, itchy, and made my .. friend’s…..skin want to be sucked off “her” body. So no pain no gain and for $140 bucks (yeah I had to pay to have them shipped and pay extra for a pair since they’re sold out all over) I don’t think they’re worth it. And besides that they’re back ordered and out of stock everywhere. Too much trouble in my view.

I’ll stick with the treatment for cellulite that was recommended by actual women and costs a lot less money wise and discomfort-wise. As an anti cellulite treatment I’d save your money.
